INSTRUCTORS + STAFF Smart, certified, educated, and empathetic: that is the profile of every LFS boot camp instructor. We are here to ensure that you get a safe challenging workout and have fun at the same time. All of our instructors have really walked the talk, which means that they have all done LFS boot camp as a part of their instructor training. As a result, my team not only brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my company, but they also have a certain wisdom and trust--knowing that all LFS boot camp programs do produce amazing results. My staff know when it will feel tough, they will know when you will want to give up, they know what to do if you fall off the wagon and they are there for you, encouraging you, helping you, and celebrating with you as you reach all of your goals. I am very proud and blessed to have such an amazing bunch of trainers who are passionate and dedicated to helping you learn about fitness, health, balanced nutrition, and harnessing the power of self-discipline that resides inside yourself. CHANTELLE SUTTON ~ SENIOR LEADER Chantelle came to LFS as a BCRPA certified fitness instructor who was bored of teaching aerobics classes and was itching to get outdoors. After attending camp as a client, Chantelle admits that she was hooked and joined LFS as one of the first employees in 2001. Her creative workouts and enthusiasm, rain or shine, have proven to be instrumental in both the success of our clients and the success of the company over the last 7 years. There is no time wasted in Chantelle's action packed classes. Her workouts are full of energy, will challenge muscles that you didn't know you had, and will leave you feeling invigorated! Always on the go, Chantelle has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honors in 2000) and a Bachelor of Laws (2008), both from UVic. When she is not articling at a local law firm or teaching boot camp classes, she can be found mountain biking with her beautiful dog Molly, running a variety of road and trail races from 8.5km to 1/2 marathons, or putting them together and throwing in kayaking/rappelling for the MOMAR adventure race series. .. |

JENNIE TUTTLE ~ASSISTANT Jennie has been active all her life and is sometimes referred to as our resident jock. Although Jennie is naturally athletic, she loves to infuse the fun, competitive, and team-like commradory into every LFS boot camp class. At LFS it is mainly a "self competitive" atmosphere, one in which we are always encouraging you to do your best, make little improvements each day, and learn from your mistakes. The queen of self-sabotage control, Jennie ensures that all boot campers fill-out their success journals and make good food choices to fuel their workouts to maximize their results. Even if she has to dish-out some push-ups from time-to-time, Jennie will be the first one down in the dirt to do them with you. When Jennie is not teaching at boot camp, you can find her jamming with her band, playing competitive hockey, and baseball. This third year UVIC student, majoring in Bio-Psychology, has a fantastic philosophy about fitness: "always try to make exercise as fun as possible...laughing works the abs too."

MELISSA aNSTICE ~ASSISTANT Melissa came to us in the summer of 2007 as a client. Having tried other boot camps in town, Melissa states that she was blown away by the difference in quality, leadership, and instructorship of the LFS boot camp program. Melissa achieved dramatic results and changes in her body after doing LFS boot camp and admits that she was the steriotypical high school Jock turned couch potato before she joined. Her love for the outdoors and her desire to be healthy and strong never left-just her willpower and motivation. LFS inspired her to make a significant lifestyle change and now Melissa is excited to "give back". Melissa, has successfully completed her BCRPA fitness theory courses and is excited to inspire, help, guide, and coach you to keep on going when things get tough. Excuses won't fly around Melissa..."Something made you take this step: I am here to make sure you follow through. You CAN do this!!!" Currently, Melissa is in her second trimester with her first child due in early August. She will be with us for one more camp and then she will be joining us to in the baby friendly class to reclaim her pre-pregnancy shape.

JOANNE REES ~ASSISTANT Joanne exclaims that she a "self-proclaimed" boot camp "elder", but here at LFS, we see the strength, health, and wisdom her life experience brings. Joanne came to LFS as a client in 2006 and watched her body transform during her 6 week boot camp course. Joanne claims that the most important thing that she learned during the course was to look at "food as fuel". Kim's description of "your stomach being your furnace and needing to be consistently fuelled in order to burn fat efficiently" really resonated with Joanne. Eating frequently throughout the day gave Joanne energy to make the most out of her workouts and increased her productivity at work. You can count on Joanne to hold you accountable each week with your eating because 70% of your results will come from the foods that you eat. When Joanne is not working or assisting boot camp classes, she loves to run, workout, play women's slow pitch, bike, and dragon boat. In addition, Joanne has completed her BCRPA Fitness Theroy and is currently working on additional BCRPA accredited courses.
